Job summary

GovStrive is seeking a Senior Personnel Security Specialist for a fully remote role supporting federal HR processes, including background investigations and onboarding efforts. You will act as the primary liaison for applicants, supervisors, and staffing personnel, ensuring timely, compliant handling of investigations and security clearances.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of subject matter expertise in security or intelligence disciplines or alternatively 5+ years of subject matter expertise in security or intelligence disciplines.
• Tier 2 security clearance or higher is required for this position.

Responsibilities

• Manages end-to-end case processing within eAPP, including initiation, tracking, and resolution of investigation requests.
• Acts as main point of contact for applicants, supervisors, and staffing personnel, offering guidance through the investigation process.
• Reviews and validates personnel security investigation requests for Public Trust and National Security positions for completeness and accuracy.
• Reviews SF-85, SF-85P, and SF-86 submissions for discrepancies and potential suitability issues.
• Prepares and processes agency-specific personnel security documentation (e.g., AD-1187), ensuring compliance with policies.
• Provides guidance on investigation processes, adjudicative standards, and policy interpretation; supports audit readiness.
• Gathers data; analyzes information with accuracy; protects PII and maintains secure data handling.
