Your Recruiting Company, Inc. in Washington, DC is seeking a Personnel Security Spec to perform case processing for non-sensitive and public trust positions within a federal environment.

You will manage cases with minimal supervision, applying established procedures and escalating for government review when necessary. The role requires independent judgment, thorough documentation, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 8 years of personnel security experience within a federal environment.
• Demonstrated ability to process personnel security cases with limited supervision.
• Proven experience applying established personnel security procedures to routine and moderately complex cases.
• Experience exercising sound judgment within defined authorities and escalating issues appropriately to government personnel.
• Independently review personnel security documentation and initiate the correct type of investigation.
• Experience monitoring investigative actions and tracking case progress to ensure completeness and compliance.
• Skill in reviewing completed investigations, identifying gaps, and determining when additional development or government review is required.
• Maintain accurate, timely case records and meet established processing timelines.
• Experience coordinating with internal and external stakeholders during case processing.
• Manage cases from initiation through completion while maintaining quality and timeliness.
• Capability to provide informal guidance to junior personnel on established procedures (no supervisory authority unless authorized).
• Understanding that final adjudicative decisions remain with government officials.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate experience performing personnel security case processing with limited supervision, applying established procedures to routine and moderately complex cases, escalating matters requiring Government decision-making.
• Provide personnel security case processing support primarily involving non-sensitive and public trust positions.
• Independently perform routine to moderately complex personnel security processing activities, including reviewing personnel security documentation, initiating appropriate investigations, monitoring investigative actions, reviewing completed investigative information for completeness, identifying matters requiring additional development or Government review, maintaining case documentation, and coordinating with appropriate stakeholders.
• Manage assigned cases from initiation through completion, maintaining accurate and timely records, meeting established processing timelines, and identifying issues that require escalation.
• Provide informal guidance to junior personnel on established procedures but shall not exercise supervisory authority unless separately authorized by AgencyGovernment personnel.
• Conduct an initial review of investigative information, identify potentially relevant information, document factual findings, and prepare case information or recommendations for review by authorized AgencyGovernment personnel.
