Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Lead Performance Test Engineer to lead and execute performance initiatives for complex enterprise and cloud-native applications. This hands-on role demands deep expertise in performance testing, automation, cloud platforms, observability, and resiliency.

You will collaborate across engineering teams to set performance standards, integrate automated gates into CI/CD, analyze bottlenecks, and drive scalability.

Qualifications

• At least 10 years hands-on experience in performance testing/engineering or non-functional testing for enterprise apps.
• Proficiency with NeoLoad or comparable enterprise performance testing tooling.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute performance, load, stress, endurance, scalability, and capacity-testing strategies for enterprise apps, APIs, and cloud services.
• Build and maintain automated performance-testing frameworks using NeoLoad and custom solutions.
• Integrate performance testing into CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI/CD or similar platforms.
• Analyze performance across application, database, infrastructure, network, and cloud layers to identify bottlenecks.
• Utilize AWS services and observability platforms to troubleshoot complex performance issues.
• Plan and execute Chaos Engineering and resiliency-testing to validate fault tolerance and recovery.
• Develop automation utilities with Python, Java, SQL, and scripting to boost testing efficiency.
