Job summary

First Citizens Bank is seeking an AppSec Pentest Manager to lead a team of penetration testers within the Bank's AppSec Testing Program. This role partners with development and IT teams to drive risk-based testing aligned with OWASP Top 10, PETS, and CREST methodologies, focusing on complex vulnerability identification and remediation.

Remote eligible with a focus on strategic leadership, program management, and effective reporting to executives; a strong background in cybersecurity leadership

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and 8 years' experience OR High School Diploma or GED/Equivalent and 12 years' experience in information security or technology.
• Industry-standard penetration testing or cybersecurity leadership certifications preferred (CISSP, CISM, GPEN, GWAPT, OSCP, OSWA).
• Experience with agentic pentesting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Penetration Testing Strategy: develop a testing cadence aligned with Cyber Security Standards and risk appetite.
• Program Management: establish testing schedule and coordinate across teams.
• Managerial Functions: manage staff performance, training, and development plans, and vendor management.
