Job summary

Five9 is seeking a highly experienced Senior OpenStack DevOps Engineer to architect, implement, and support our OpenStack-based private cloud infrastructure. You will ensure scalability, resilience, and performance with IaC tools like Ansible, Terraform, or Pulumi.

You will work across Neutron, Octavia, Manila, Cinder, Nova, Ironic, and Glance, collaborating with platform and SRE teams to deliver secure, high-throughput services for mission-critical applications.

Qualifications

• 5+ years operating and automating large OpenStack cloud environments

Responsibilities

• Design multi-tenant OpenStack infra aligned with open community standards
• Automate provisioning, lifecycle mgmt, and configuration of OpenStack services using Ansible, Terraform, or Pulumi
• Extend & maintain integrations for core OpenStack services (Neutron, Octavia, Manila, Cinder, Nova, Ironic, Glance)
• Contribute to upstream OpenStack projects when needed
• Implement CD pipelines for OpenStack updates, patch management, upgrades and rollbacks
• Develop monitoring, alerting, and healing using GitOps & observability stacks (Prometheus, Loki, Grafana)
• Harden services for high availability, DR, and scale-out
• Perform deep-dive troubleshooting across control and data planes
• Participate in on-call rotation and incident response
