Location: On-Site | St. George UT and Boise ID

A nationally recognized, growth-stage data-center provider is modernizing its private-cloud footprint and needs a hands‑on leader to own all things OpenStack. In this high-impact role you will shape the architecture, automation, and day-to-day operations of multi-region clusters that power mission‑critical customer workloads. You will join an expert team that values innovation, mentorship, and continuous improvement while enjoying the resources of a well‑founded organization that rewards technical excellence.

What You’ll Do
  • Architect, deploy, and optimize highly available OpenStack clouds across multiple sites, continually improving performance, scalability, and security.
  • Administer core OpenStack services (Nova, Neutron, Cinder, Glance, Keystone), integrating compute, networking, and storage with data‑center hardware.
  • Design infrastructure‑as‑code workflows using Ansible, Terraform, and Python to streamline provisioning, patching, and DR testing.
  • Implement robust monitoring and alerting, analyze performance trends, and drive capacity‑planning initiatives.
  • Champion security best practices including RBAC, secrets management, and compliance hardening.
  • Lead incident response, troubleshoot complex issues spanning hardware, virtualization, and network layers, and coordinate vendor escalations.
  • Produce clear run‑books, diagrams, and change‑control documentation to support operational excellence and audit readiness.
  • Mentor cloud engineers, share knowledge through code reviews and workshops, and foster a culture of learning and collaboration.
  • Participate in an on‑call rotation covering three data‑center regions.
What You’ll Bring
  • 7+ years in cloud or infrastructure engineering roles, with 3+ years running OpenStack in production.
  • Deep Linux administration skills (Ubuntu, RHEL, or similar) and solid networking fundamentals (routing, VLANs, firewalls).
  • Proficiency with automation / scripting (Ansible, Python) and infrastructure‑as‑code tooling (Terraform or equivalent).
  • Hands‑on experience with virtualization and container ecosystems (KVM, Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Track record of improving system reliability, performance, and security in 24×7 environments.
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and customer‑facing communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or comparable experience.
  • Bonus points for OpenStack or Linux certifications, SDN/NFV knowledge, or experience integrating Kubernetes with OpenStack.
Why Join
  • Competitive base salary plus annual bonus program.
  • Full medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) with company match from day one.
  • Generous PTO, paid holidays, and a collaborative, on‑site culture.
  • Direct influence on cloud strategy at a rapidly scaling data‑center organization.
  • Career growth path into principal engineering or leadership roles.
