Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Senior OpenShift/Kubernetes GitOps and CI/CD Engineer to architect and build an enterprise delivery capability for workloads migrating from virtualized to containerized platforms. Remote work is supported under the SEC ISS2 contract; the role spans across application, platform, security, automation, observability, and operations teams.

Qualifications

BS degree with 8–12 years of relevant experience, or Master’s with 6–10 years.
Strong hands-on design, engineering, and operation of enterprise CI/CD and GitOps.
Production experience with Kubernetes/OpenShift environments.
Experience with Git-based development workflows and automated validation.
Familiarity with security controls, RBAC, and ITSM/change-management integrations.
Ability to explain decisions and work with technical teams and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Architect and implement the SEC GitOps and CI/CD capability from foundation to production.
Assess existing OpenShift/Kubernetes environments and containerize workloads.
Design standardized GitHub repo structures for source and deployment config.
Engineer reusable OpenShift Pipelines/Tekton templates for build, test, and promote.
Build container image workflows and ensure image provenance and immutability.
Integrate CI with Nexus/Artifactory and manage artifact vs container image separation in Quay.
Establish end-to-end deployment traceability from commit to validation.
Document decisions, standards, interfaces, and operating procedures.
