Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company is seeking a Principal Field Specialist to manage highly complex projects remotely from anywhere in the United States. You will supervise 20-30 person teams and may serve as an inputs lead on proposals or assume full project manager responsibilities on large programs.

The role reports to the Manager of Reactor & Balance of Plant Inspection Operations and requires up to 50% travel for outage work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in project management, engineering, construction management or related technical degree or equivalent technical experience in an industrial environment.
• 10 years of project manager experience or 5 years of project management/supervisor experience and 5 years' experience in technical role.
• Westinghouse Project Manager qualification in progress or willingness to complete in designated time frame.
• Expertise of the Project Management Institute's Project Management Body of Knowledge.
• Obtain and maintain unescorted access to a nuclear power plant and working with hazardous materials.
• Ability to travel during the spring and fall for potentially months at a time on jobs with 12 hour schedule on nights or days when on site assignments and 6-7 days per week on site assignment.

Responsibilities

• Complete all aspects of planning process including authoring project plans and developing scope, schedule, and cost baselines.
• Lead end-to-end project execution, monitoring, and control activities, ensuring alignment to scope, schedule, cost, quality, risk, and stakeholder requirements while driving project performance, financial compliance, and successful contract delivery.
• Lead project closeout activities, including final assessments, documentation, lessons learned, and archival of project records to ensure successful project completion and knowledge transfer.
• Interpret and transmit contract requirements and subsequent changes to functional groups.
• Integrate projects' objectives and actions through participation with other project groups in matters of common concern.
• Seek out and implement opportunities for continuous improvement.
