Job summary

Highbrow LLC is seeking a Sr System Engineer (Networking) to join a remote team. The role emphasizes low-level networking, Rust and Go for high-performance software, and deep Linux networking stack expertise.

You will stand up a local VM-based stack, port components to ARM, and collaborate across teams on VM-related features and NIC offloads. A strong systems background and knowledge of DPDK rte_flow are advantageous.

Qualifications

• Experience in low-level network programming.
• Proficiency in Rust and Go for high-performance networking software.
• Strong background in Linux network stack internals and packet processing.

Responsibilities

• Set up a local dev environment where the full stack runs in a VM owned by the developer.
• Debug issues, port the stack to ARM, and escalate with other teams as needed.
• Contribute beyond networking to VM disks and VM management; broad domain knowledge is a plus.
• Develop network features, including offloading networking to NICs.
• Familiarity with DPDK rte_flow is a plus; other rte_flow-related work may be involved.
