Job summary

Hewlett Packard Enterprise is seeking a Senior Resident Engineer to join the Advanced Services team. The role requires deep Junos networking proficiency and a track record in Tier 1 ISP routing, MPLS/IS-IS/BGP/VPN, and architectural design.

You will work closely with customers, perform break/fix diagnostics, and guide configurations while mentoring peers. The position permits Remote/Teleworker arrangements with up to 10% travel to customer sites and involves interaction with multi-vendor

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
10 years of experience in networking.
Expert level knowledge in Tier 1 ISP routing with MPLS/IS-IS/BGP/VPN and troubleshooting.
Expert level routing, switching, and network architecture.
Experience with Junos and Junos EVO software features, as well as associated hardware (MX/QFX/PTX/EX).
Ability to develop automation in Python, Bash and SLAX or similar scripting languages.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

Serve as the HPE product subject matter expert in networking technologies, providing assistance in design, troubleshooting, testing, documentation, and best practices.
Manage and expand relationships with internal and outsourced development partners on engineering design and development.
Review designs and projects for compliance with guidelines and provide feedback to improve product quality.
Provide engineering leadership and cross-organizational perspective on projects and programs.
Drive innovation and integration of new technologies into engineering projects.
Mentor less-experienced staff.
