Job summary

Symmetrio is seeking multiple Senior Network Engineers to support a major government network transformation. The role focuses on implementing Juniper MX960 routers and transitioning MC-LAG to EVPN/VXLAN fabrics.

You will lead high-impact cutovers in production, contributing to network architecture and hands-on implementation across a multi-overlay fabric. Philadelphia-based remote role with quarterly travel.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience as a Network Engineer in enterprise or large data center environments.
• 5+ years hands-on with Juniper MX and EX platforms.
• Strong knowledge of core routing protocols (BGP and OSPF).
• Proficient in Junos OS configuration and troubleshooting in production.
• Experience with large-scale router replacement or migrations.
• Familiarity with EVPN design, deployment, operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise-scale Juniper router migrations (MX960).
• Design and validate EVPN/VXLAN architectures for multiple overlays.
• Collaborate with customer networks team for seamless migration with minimal disruption.
• Configure, test, and deploy Junos OS across MX and EX platforms in production.
• Provide guidance on MC-LAG to EVPN migrations, including testing and troubleshooting.
• Develop documentation for network designs, cutover strategies, and post-migration processes.
• Serve as SME for Juniper routing, EVPN/VXLAN, and advanced routing protocols.
• Support after-hours cutovers and escalation during critical events.
