Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of enterprise networking experience with strong wireless specialization.
• Hands-on experience with Cisco Catalyst 9800 controllers.
• Experience migrating from AireOS to Catalyst 9800 (e.g., 5508/5520/8540).
• Knowledge of RF design, roaming, QoS, 802.11k/v/r, RADIUS, 802.1X.
• Experience supporting large environments and 24/7 production settings.

Responsibilities

• Review and validate Catalyst 9800 configurations before deployment.
• Provide WLAN, policy, RF, VLAN, QoS and authentication recommendations.
• Assess legacy AireOS configurations for migration or redesign.
• Review RF settings: TX power, channel width, data rates, RSSI, SNR, roaming.
• Validate wireless voice and roaming behavior.
• Develop migration, testing, rollback, and troubleshooting procedures.
• Minimize service disruption during large-scale wireless migrations.
• Explain technical recommendations clearly with rationale.
