Job summary

AECOM is seeking a motivated Senior Consulting Mining Engineer to join our Alaska mining team on a part-time basis. The role spans from early-stage studies to detailed engineering and construction support, working with multidisciplinary project teams.

The candidate will collaborate with senior engineers and project managers, applying solid technical knowledge and sound engineering judgment while managing multiple assignments. Travel up to 20% domestically is expected.

Qualifications

• BS in Mining Engineering or a related engineering discipline and 8+ years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Responsibilities

• Support mining projects from early-stage studies through detailed engineering and construction support.
• Collaborate with senior mining engineers, project managers, and discipline leads to develop practical solutions.
• Develop mine access planning, mining method selection, and development strategies.
• Review mine schedules, production plans, and financial analyses by senior engineers.
• Prepare capital and operating cost estimates for studies and evaluations.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams across mining, civil, geotechnical, and process engineering.
