Job summary

Lockwood is seeking a Copy Editor to support Managing Editors on dedicated accounts, including editing, proofreading, data checking, submissions, and other editorial tasks. Responsibilities will be coordinated with the lead editor in conjunction with Traffic Management.

Education required includes a Bachelor’s degree, and candidates should have at least 5 years of medical editing experience, with EndNote experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is required.
• At least 5 years of medical editing experience.
• Experience with EndNote.
• Experience with multiple therapeutic areas and media formats preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supports Managing Editors and aligned teams to address daily and evolving needs.
• Maintains knowledge of relevant style guidelines for aligned accounts, including AMA and Chicago styles.
• Contributes to maintenance and updates to Editorial SOP, list of frequently encountered editorial questions/issues, and list of team-specific requests and preferences.
• Addresses CE-related questions from scientific directors and other team members.
• Reviews content not only for objective grammatical and stylistic standards but with a critical eye for elements of “sense” or “story,” when requested.
• Demonstrates flexibility, innovation, and independent judgment.
• Provides timely communication between relevant departments, including Accounts, Scientific, and third-party contributors.
