Hanwha Qcells USA Corp is seeking a Senior Manager, Project Controls in a remote US role based in Houston, TX. You will lead a team of Commercial Managers and Project Accountants, focusing on financial and contractual aspects of Self-Perform Solar Projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field; MBA preferred, or 5+ years work experience in a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in project management or cost control, preferably in renewable energy.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, project management software, and other relevant tools.
• Ability to highlight key risk factors and advise EPC cost estimates.
• Experience with current solar EPC tools and processes and trends.
• Demonstrated track record of cost reduction/performance improvement.
• Capability to interact with leadership cross-culturally.
• Long-term strategic perspective with action orientation.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Commercial Managers and Project Accountants on Self-Perform Solar Projects.
• Collaborate with project leaders to meet objectives within constraints.
• Negotiate subcontracts with favorable terms and compliance.
• Identify and mitigate project risks; pursue opportunities.
• Manage change orders and ensure proper documentation and impact assessment.
• Develop strategies to ensure contractual compliance and policy adherence.
• Evaluate internal resources and subcontractor performance.
• Resolve contractual disputes promptly to keep timelines and budgets.
• Prepare monthly executive reports with variance, risk, forecasts, and change logs.
• Conduct regular reviews of deliverables and provide feedback for improvement.
• Implement and maintain project cost control plans and procedures.
• Support project schedule development and critical path management.
• Oversee budgets, costs, and forecasting.
• Engage with clients to align expectations and communicate invoicing and cash flows.
• Ensure reporting standards and project management methods are followed.
