WEX is seeking a Sr. Manager of Software Engineering to lead the Beyond Fuel and Expense Management initiative within WEX Mobility Engineering.

You will drive architecture, AI-enabled development, and a scalable roadmap across US and India while collaborating with Product, Design, and business teams to optimize fleet spend visibility and controls. The role requires 8+ years of software engineering experience with 4+ years in engineering management, a strong background in distributed systems,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering.
• 8+ years of software engineering experience with 4+ years in engineering management.
• Experience in developing large-scale distributed systems and testing for accuracy and performance.
• Ability to automate scaffolding code, unit tests, and integration tests using past execution data and generative AI.
• Experience with AI-DLC products and APIs; AI-first approach.
• Strong security and compliance knowledge in cloud and data environments.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, drive, and execute a long-term vision and strategy for the Beyond fuel and Expense management initiative at WEX.
• Lead engineering teams across the United States and India to design, build, and scale payment and expense management capabilities.
• Drive cross-team engineering projects as a single-threaded owner (STO) and establish metrics-driven productivity.
• Collaborate with product, design, and business stakeholders to define the technical strategy and deliver solutions.
• Mentor and grow high-performance engineers, maintain roadmaps, OKRs, and quarterly feedback.
