Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Senior Mainframe Developer with extensive COBOL experience to work on ACI Money Transfer systems. You will analyze business requirements, implement system enhancements, and support testing and deployments.

The role supports SIT/UAT, documentation, and agile ceremonies, with a remote-friendly arrangement for qualified applicants across the United States. Sponsorship is not offered.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Mainframe application development.
• Strong hands-on COBOL programming in Mainframe environments.
• Working knowledge of Unix/Linux operating systems and scripting fundamentals.
• Experience with ACI Money Transfer System (MTS) or similar payment processing platforms.
• Understanding of SDLC, testing methodologies, and release management processes.

Responsibilities

• Identify application changes and develop solutions aligned with business and technical requirements.
• Perform coding, unit testing, and quality validation of developed enhancements and fixes.
• Coordinate and support SIT and UAT, including defect analysis and resolution.
• Execute production deployments, validate post-release changes, and support rollout activities.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, deployment guides, and process documentation.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery.
