Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Senior Linux Engineer (Cloud) to manage enterprise Linux environments across on‑premises and cloud platforms, ensuring high availability, security, and operational excellence in a remote role.

You will administer RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu, automate tasks with Bash, Python, Ansible or Terraform, and deploy containerized workloads with Docker and Kubernetes, collaborating with cross‑functional teams.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of Linux Administration experience (RHEL preferred).
• Experience with AWS and/or Azure cloud environments.
• Shell scripting in Bash and Python proficiency.
• Terraform or other IaC tooling experience.
• Docker and Kubernetes experience.
• Linux patching, hardening and security focus.
• Production support and incident management experience.

Responsibilities

• Administer and support RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu environments.
• Manage Linux server provisioning, patching, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
• Support cloud infrastructure on AWS and/or Azure.
• Automate operational tasks using Bash, Python, Ansible, or Terraform.
• Deploy and support containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Monitor infrastructure performance, availability, and security.
• Participate in incident, problem, and change management processes.
• Collaborate with application, network, and cloud teams on infrastructure initiatives.
