Job summary

TSR Consulting is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer for a Remote role. The candidate will lead Linux system administration, automation, configuration management with Ansible, and reliability across production environments. Responsibilities include incident triage, monitoring, patching, and 24/7 on-call support.

Strong scripting, Linux internals, and experience with cloud platforms are required. Preferred background includes OpenShift, KVM, VMware, and ELK stack, plus Terraform or HashiCorp

Qualifications

  • BA/BS in Computer Science or related field desired, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

  • Manage ticket and alert triage to maintain service health.
  • Own monitoring and alerting for production systems and services.
  • Implement and maintain configuration management with Ansible.
  • Perform system maintenance, patching, migrations, and upgrades.
  • Develop automation and scripts using Python and Bash.
  • Contribute to architectural design, performance analysis, and capacity planning.
  • Build tools to improve reliability, observability, and operational efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues across Linux subsystems and services.
  • Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation.
