Job summary

Pierce County is seeking a Senior Land Use Planner 3 to join the Long Range Planning Division. This role is primarily remote with the option to work in the office, and requires attendance at in-person meetings with occasional travel to various sites.

You will lead significant land use planning efforts, engage communities, and manage complex project timelines. Responsibilities include interpreting laws, producing reports, and presenting findings to County Officials and the public.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in planning or related field.
• Three years of related planning work.
• Background check required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as subject matter expert for assigned planning projects.
• Interpret local, state and federal laws, regulations and guidelines related to planning duties.
• Perform research, prepare studies, write reports, and analyze data for planning functions.
• Represent the Department at internal and external meetings.
• Collaborate across departments on plan development and community engagement.
• Lead presentation of reports to County Officials, departments, external entities, and the public.
