Job summary

Walla Walla County is seeking a Senior Planner to perform complex current and long-range land use planning and review development proposals. The role supports the Community Development Director and Deputy, administering planning regulations and helping guide policy implementation.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree in Planning or related field and five years of relevant experience with Washington land use controls, area plans, and environmental regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Planning, Geography or an associated field.
• Five (5) years of relevant experience with Washington State land use controls, comprehensive plans, and environmental regulations.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex current and long-range land use planning and review development proposals and plans.
• Assist with code enforcement and policy implementation for planning division.
• Lead meetings, present at public hearings and meetings, and manage report workflows.
• Support director-level administration of planning staff, policies, and procedures.
