Job summary

Peraton seeks an experienced Senior Kubernetes Engineer to support modernization and migration of containerized workloads in a multi-cloud government setting. The role emphasizes AKS/ARK design, secure platform engineering, and incident leadership across a 70+ tenant environment.

The candidate will oversee incident response, platform observability, and collaboration with Architecture to enforce best practices under FedRAMP compliance. This is a remote position with US Eastern work hours.

Qualifications

U.S. citizen with ability to obtain DHS Public Trust clearance.
Hands-on Kubernetes production experience across AKS and Kubernetes stack (control plane, networking, storage, RBAC).
Experience deploying/operating ARK or similar agent runtimes and CRDs.
Proven incident management lead in large, multi-tenant environments with FedRAMP considerations.
Strong leadership, communication, and technical documentation skills.

Responsibilities

Serve as Tier 3 escalation point for complex incidents across AKS and ARK environments.
Lead investigations and root cause analyses of Kubernetes incidents to prevent recurrence.
Define observability standards using Azure Monitor, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, and ARK telemetry.
Mentor Tier 2 engineers and drive knowledge sharing across teams.
Ensure security, RBAC, network policies, and FedRAMP compliance across tenant clusters.
