Job summary

Eliassen Group is seeking a Senior Java Engineer to join the AVOD team on a fully remote, six-month contract with strong extension potential. The role focuses on a mature Java platform, developing new services, and enriching existing services with reuse and modernization.

Pacific Time overlap is preferred, and hands-on agentic development is a hard requirement. The team collaborates within a small, senior engineering group, and the client offers remote flexibility and a path toward durable

Qualifications

• Senior-level software engineering experience with strong production-level Java.
• Experience building new services and enhancing existing applications in mature codebases.
• Hands-on agentic development using AI agents to actively produce and iterate on code.
• Ability to explain a repeatable agentic workflow from task definition through code generation, review, testing, and integration.

Responsibilities

• Develop and support Java-based AVOD systems within a mature platform and established codebase.
• Build new services and add features to existing services with an emphasis on reuse and modernization.
• Balance ongoing platform support with forward-looking development.
• Contribute to personalization-related projects when appropriate.
• Apply agentic development workflows to produce, review, test, and refine code.
• Collaborate within a small, highly senior engineering team.
