Randstad Digital in Madison, Wisconsin seeks a contract software engineer to develop Java backend applications (Java 8–21) and Angular front-ends. You will implement RESTful APIs, leverage Kafka and Redis, and apply OpenAPI documentation, with unit tests via JUnit and Playwright.

The role requires collaboration across business analysts, QA, and DevOps, with strong focus on performance, accessibility (WCAG), and code quality. 8am–5pm, 100% remote from Madison with occasional in-office visits.

Formación

• Strong proficiency in Java, Spring Framework (Spring Boot), Hibernate/JPA, Message queuing, and caching.
• Advanced skills in Angular (21), Typescript, HTML5, and CSS3.
• Experience designing, creating, and documenting RESTful API using Spring Boot and OpenAPI.
• Practical knowledge of middleware platforms like Apache Kafka, Redis, and BOOMI.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and dynamic environment configuration.
• Experience developing wireframes and mock-ups to communicate design concepts with stakeholders.
• Strong knowledge of relational databases.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, Google Cloud.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
• Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum, Iterative, and waterfall methodologies.

Responsabilidades

• Develop and maintain Java-based backend applications with high performance and scalability.
• Unit test and ensure code coverage using JUnit.
• Develop and maintain Angular-based front-end interfaces with a focus on responsiveness and ADA/WCAG compliance.
• Create and maintain RESTful APIs for frontend-backend integration.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and implement requirements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues to ensure system reliability.
• Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in Java and Angular development.
• Participate in full software development lifecycle including requirements, design, coding, testing, and deployment.
• Leverage AI prompts/skills to accelerate development processes.
