Job summary

Highmark Health is seeking an experienced IT Storage Engineer to design, implement, and maintain enterprise storage solutions. You will work across IT, product, and analytics to ensure scalable, secure, and high‑performing storage systems.

The role involves optimizing storage architectures, participating in backups and DR testing, and mentoring junior engineers while aligning with governance and security policies. A strong foundation in cloud storage and Linux is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering or related field.
• Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in analyzing, designing, coding, testing and implementing technical solutions.
• Experience with cloud storage platforms (GCP, Azure, AWS) and storage services.
• Strong problem solving and root cause analysis abilities.
• Familiarity with storage integrations and enterprise governance policies.

Responsibilities

• Analyzing, designing, testing, implementing, and automating technical IT storage solutions.
• Providing production monitoring, storage capacity management, and storage ecosystem support.
• Assisting in data backup, recovery, disaster recovery and cyber recovery testing.
• Collaborating on storage architecture design to align with enterprise goals.
• Gathering requirements from IT, product, analytics and business teams for storage solutions.
• Monitoring progress and reporting issues to leadership with regular updates.
• Documenting technical processes and procedures and ensuring quality.
