Job summary

Coinbase, a remote-first company, is seeking a Senior Analyst on the Risk Analytics team to own ATO and scam prevention across the Coinbase ecosystem, using data to drive risk decisions that affect millions of customers.

You will define risk metrics, shape prevention strategies, and partner with Product, Engineering, and Data Science to build scalable controls and dashboards.

Base salary ranges from $167,280 to $196,800 per year, with equity and bonus eligibility.

Qualifications

• 6+ years risk experience in e-commerce or financial services, incl. 2+ years on ATO/scams in Fraud/Trust & Safety.
• 2+ years professional experience in data analysis using SQL and Python with large-scale databases.
• Proficiency with BI tools to build dashboards and reporting frameworks.
• Proven ability to independently scope and deliver analytics projects with cross-functional collaboration.
• Familiarity with blockchain analytics and crypto fraud trends.
• Uses generative AI responsibly with human oversight to improve workflows.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end risk controls for ATO and scam prevention, scaling as the business grows.
• Define risk metrics, build reporting frameworks, and drive ongoing improvements.
• Use data to assess risk and guide decisions impacting large customer segments.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, and Data Science to develop risk strategies across Coinbase products.
• Translate data findings into clear narratives for senior risk and product leadership.
• Investigate and mitigate fraudulent and scam activities by reviewing alerts.
