Job summary

Hanwha Qcells USA Corp seeks a Senior HV/BESS Estimation Manager to lead estimators for utility-scale solar EPC projects nationwide in a remote/home office setup. You will develop firm bid documents, cost estimates for HV substations and BESS, and optimize pricing strategies.

You will review subcontractor quotations, identify risks, and drive margin improvements through cost efficiencies and engineering optimization. Travel up to 25% is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or relevant certificate; degree waived if 6+ years' relevant experience.
• 8+ years estimating and project management, with solar/HV/BESS experience preferred.
• Background in commercial construction, electrical equipment, and/or power plant engineering.
• Strong oral and written communication, computer fluency, and negotiation skills.
• Experience in estimating solar PV and BESS projects; knowledge of EPC contracting favored.
• Proficiency with cost estimation tools: HCSS HeavyBid, Smartsheet, Procore.

Responsibilities

• Lead estimators, provide guidance and mentorship to the team.
• Collaborate with project managers and engineers to capture requirements and deadlines.
• Develop strategies to improve estimation efficiency and accuracy.
• Hold regular estimation team meetings to review progress and provide feedback.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for HV substations and BESS; review subcontractor bids.
• Manage vendor/supplier relations to ensure competitive pricing and on-time delivery.
• Develop risk mitigation plans and contingency strategies for estimates.
• Support bid/proposal development with pricing strategies and contract negotiations.
