Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking a Senior Consultant to support payment model implementation contracts, lead operations, analytics, and policy analysis across health programs. This role emphasizes client relationship growth, deliverable quality, and innovative analytic approaches on value-based care initiatives.

The position allows remote work from anywhere in the U.S., with in-office requirements for Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area staff four days a week.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience using SQL, R, Python, or SAS in a research, consulting, or business environment.
• 4+ years of experience working on federal health policy issues, including Medicare and Medicaid value-based payment.
• Ability to translate complex findings to non-technical audiences in written and verbal forms.
• Experience leading cross-functional project teams.
• Experience implementing or evaluating value-based payment programs.
• Experience working in Snowflake or Databricks environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead multi-disciplinary project teams and coordinate efforts across analysts, consultants, and client stakeholders.
• Engage and cultivate existing client relationships through policy consultation and thought leadership.
• Oversee payment model operations and analytics to inform model execution for value-based care initiatives.
• Develop payment calculations, perform financial and trend analyses, and address client needs with quick ad-hoc analysis.
• Mentor staff to develop analytical skills and solve problems.
• Maintain high accuracy and attention to detail in all tasks.
