Inovalon in Bowie, MD seeks a Principal Health Data Scientist to lead data science, programming, and analytical modeling for HEOR/RWE research within the Insights team. This independent contributor role requires deep domain expertise and the ability to manage studies from start to finish.

You will work with administrative claims and EHR data, develop high-level models, and translate findings for clients, while ensuring HIPAA compliance and mentoring cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in statistics, applied mathematics, computer science, machine learning, econometrics, engineering, or related discipline.

Responsabilités

• Lead for programming, analytics, and statistics with teams of researchers and analysts.
• Develop solutions for strategic business problems using advanced modeling and statistics.
• Use SQL for data extraction, transformation and management; document code and algorithms.
• Identify hypotheses and communicate findings clearly to clients.
• Respond to complex data requests with ad-hoc queries for research projects.
• Provide quality control and mentoring across project teams.
• Collaborate with Enterprise Data Management and data production teams to resolve data issues and improve processes.
• Troubleshoot production-related issues and coordinate resolution.
• Evaluate data analytic vendors and tools.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and Inovalon's policies.
