Job summary

American Heart Association seeks a Sr. Grant Administrator to drive the strategic operational execution of a multi-million-dollar grant-funded department. You will coordinate budgets, reporting, and compliance, serving as a cross-functional liaison across program strategy and operations.

Home-based work is available. You will lead or support teams, ensure timely grant deliverables, monitor spending, and collaborate with internal and external partners to maximize impact on heart health

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 5 years of meaningful experience.
• Extensive grant administration and management skills across budgets, reporting, compliance.

Responsibilities

• Integrates grant requirements into the program and monitors processes; develops and maintains internal records and systems to support program management.
• Coordinates program budget development and facilitation with Mission Advancement, the Office of Funded Programs, and leadership teams, ensuring alignment with funder expectations and internal controls.
• Monitor budgets and expenditures, analyze financial activity, provide variance reporting, forecasting, and reconciliation guidance.
• Coordinates work with key internal stakeholders within and across staff functions, including finance, legal, operations, development, advocacy, and business technology.
• Develop and maintain internal systems, controls, and documentation to support audit readiness and effective program management.
• Act as the Voices technology coordinator, partnering with Business Technologies to optimize systems and tools supporting grantmaking and reporting.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, external partners, and grantees to enable collaboration and high-quality outcomes.
• Lead or contribute to cross-functional initiatives and project teams requiring coordination, analysis, and change management.
• Contributes to operational planning for grant-making efforts through innovation and system enhancements that improve transparency, reduce burden, and strengthen overall grant-making effectiveness.
• Provide guidance, coaching, and oversight to team members and cross-functional partners; may serve in a team lead or player/coach capacity.
