Rancher Government Solutions is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with deep Go and Kubernetes expertise to contribute to federal-level cloud-native platforms. You will design scalable services, implement secure CI/CD, and mentor junior engineers in a highly regulated environment.

Remote work within the United States is supported, with focus on GovCloud/AWS GovCloud platforms and compliance standards such as FedRAMP and NIST 800-53.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience, incl. 4+ years in Go.
• Deep understanding of Kubernetes deployment and development patterns, including manifests, controllers, Helm charts, and RBAC.
• Experience with containerization, Linux environments, and Git workflows.
• US Citizenship required for federal work.
• Familiarity with secure software development practices in regulated environments preferred.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS GovCloud, Azure Government).

Responsabilités

• Develop robust Golang applications and microservices using modern Kubernetes patterns (controllers, operators, CRDs).
• Automate testing, packaging, and deployment to Kubernetes clusters and secure environments via CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate in an agile team, participating in standups, planning, and retrospectives.
• Build infrastructure-as-code and GitOps solutions with Helm and Kustomize.
• Ensure compliance with FedRAMP and NIST 800-53 through secure design and reviews.
• Troubleshoot performance, networking, and orchestration issues across the stack.
• Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers.
