Job summary

Symetra Financial Corporation is seeking a Senior Investment Fund Analyst to focus on fund administration activities, including reporting, investor communications, accounting, performance attribution, and compliance. This remote role requires occasional travel to Farmington, CT for in-person events.

Ideal candidates will have 8+ years in Investment Operations/Fund Administration, strong Excel skills, and experience with Bloomberg, Simcorp Dimension, Python, and PowerBI.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• 8+ years of experience in Investment Operations/Fund Administration.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Attention to detail with an analytical orientation.
• Ability to multi-task and to work both independently and in a team environment.
• Motivation, initiative, and results focus.
• Versatility and flexibility to assist with coverage of other team members.
• Strong technology focus and ability to use technology to automate repetitive tasks.
• Bloomberg or other trade order management system experience.
• Simcorp Dimension or other investment accounting system experience.
• Strong Excel skills; Python and data analytics tools a plus.
• Experience with Fund Accounting for Unit Trusts.
• PowerBI or similar reporting application.

Responsibilities

• Investment Analysis and Reporting: prepare reports on the fund's investment portfolio and oversee annual audit.
• Investor Relations: communicate with investors, process orders, report on activity, track units and P&L.
• Fund Accounting: oversee external Investment Accounting Service team; review journal entries and NAV calculations; allocate income.
• Investment Compliance: monitor fund term sheet and guidelines; assist with policy adherence.
• Investment Operations Support: assist with reconciliations, trade entry, matching and settlement, daily deliverables, and documentation.
• Special Projects: improve cash/investment records, disclosures, and reports; enhance infrastructure and processes.
