Job summary

Symetra Financial Corporation is seeking an Investment Operations Analyst to support day-to-day derivatives operations for portfolio managers, traders, and risk teams. The role focuses on trade lifecycle management, confirmations, collateral, settlements, and reconciliations.

This remote position requires periodic travel to Farmington, CT for in-person events. Ideal candidates have 2–5 years of relevant experience and strong Excel/PowerBI skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• 2-5 years of cumulative, relevant experience.
• Bloomberg or other trade order management system experience; Simcorp Dimension or similar investment accounting system experience.
• Strong Excel skills and PowerBI or similar reporting experience.

Responsibilities

• Support the derivative trade lifecycle: capture, allocations, settlements, and lifecycle events.
• Manage derivative confirmations: confirm, affirm, and process within timelines.
• Coordinate settlements: pre-settlement confirmations, wire booking, post-settlement monitoring.
• Oversee collateral and margin activities, including margin calls and movements.
• Perform reconciliations across systems, custodians, and accounting records; resolve breaks.
• Collaborate with portfolio managers, traders, brokers, custodians, risk and tech teams.
• Support derivatives reporting, audits, and documentation; respond to inquiries.
