Job summary

Sphinx Defense is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer to build the next generation of mission planning and command/control software for space communications. You will lead UI/UX and strengthen backend services to support U.S. Government missions with secure, scalable systems.

The role is remote within the United States, with potential travel and collaboration across teams. You will mentor engineers, implement modern frontend frameworks, and contribute to high-impact space programs.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of web development experience with modern tooling.
• Proficient in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, TypeScript, React or Svelte.
• Experience with open architecture concepts and modern containerized microservices (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Strong backend-frontend integration skills and ability to lead juniors.
• Experience in secure government-like environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build performant, secure, tested web applications with automation and security.
• Design, enhance, and improve APIs between front-end and back-end services.
• Lead the development of features across the lifecycle with user feedback and requirements.
• Conduct thorough code reviews to maintain quality and standards.
• Translate designs into functional UIs using React/Svelte and related tech.
