Job summary

Siemens Mobility’s Fire Alarm Systems Design Engineer role is a remote, full-time position within our Smart Infrastructure organization. You will design fire alarm systems for buildings, selecting products and installation methods, producing submittals, schedules, and BOMs while ensuring compliance with NFPA 72 and client specs.

Candidates should have 5+ years of design experience, AutoCAD proficiency, NICET II with plans to obtain NICET III, and strong knowledge of fire alarm components.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; 5+ years of fire alarm design experience.
• 5+ years of experience engineering fire alarm systems.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical circuit diagrams.
• NICET II certification or equivalent with willingness to obtain NICET III within a year.
• 3+ years of AutoCAD and design; proficient with Microsoft Office.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Choose cost-effective mix of products and installation methods.
• Prepare submittals, orders, and schedules.
• Participate in sales-to-operations turnover meetings.
• Design fire alarm systems with floorplans, risers, device docs, BOMs.
• Provide electrical calculations and re-estimates.
• Coordinate with sales and management to meet scope; provide startup documentation.
• Perform QA; peer-review and mentor design team.
