Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; 5+ years of fire system design experience preferred.
• 4+ years of experience engineering fire alarm systems.
• NICET I - Fire Alarm Systems certification, willingness to obtain NICET II within 1 year.
• 4+ years of proficiency in AutoCAD and design; proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Choose the most cost-effective mix of products and installation methods.
• Prepare submittals and schedules; order products and equipment.
• Participate in sales-to-operations turnover meetings to verify estimates and layouts.
• Design fire alarm systems for buildings with floorplan drawings, riser diagrams, and device layouts.
• Provide electrical calculations such as battery and voltage drop calculations; sizing of power supplies.
• Coordinate with sales and management to ensure scoping and documentation meet client needs.
• Perform quality assurance; mentor and guide the design team.
