Job summary

Jensen Hughes seeks a seasoned Fire Alarm Consultant to join our Denver team, with deep knowledge of NFPA codes and mass notification systems. You will design, evaluate, and advise on fire alarm projects for diverse clients, ensuring code compliance and high-quality deliverables.

Remote work options are considered for the right candidate, with opportunities to mentor junior staff and support NICET training. A strong background in AutoCAD/Revit and life-safety principles is essential.

Qualifications

• NICET Level III or IV certification required.
• 5–10 years of experience in fire alarm consulting, design, or inspection.
• Strong understanding of fire protection engineering principles and life safety codes.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design software.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, fire protection, or related field preferred but not required with commensurate experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform fire alarm and mass notification system consulting and design, including system layout, equipment placement, riser diagrams, and project specifications.
• Create fire alarm shop drawings and review submittal packages from contractors.
• Conduct site assessments and field surveys to evaluate existing installations.
• Review drawings for code compliance and prepare detailed technical reports.
• Conduct testing and commissioning activities, develop test plans, and document results.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, and AHJs; mentor junior staff and support NICET training.
