Job summary

TOPPAN Packaging Americas is seeking a Field Technical Engineer for the Flexibles Division. You will serve as the main technical liaison between customers’ production teams and TOPPAN, handling qualification and service activities at assigned accounts.

Responsibilities include supporting trials, translating requirements to engineering, and leading projects to improve packaging efficiency and sustainability.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Flexible Packaging equipment service or technical support, incl. maintenance or operation of forming equipment.
• Strong mechanical hands-on abilities and understanding of equipment interactions.
• Knowledge of materials used in flexible packaging products.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Commercial and Account Development teams to commercialize packaging opportunities at targeted accounts.
• Support customer trials to qualify new packaging structures and drive cost savings.
• Translate customer requirements to TOPPAN technical personnel to build specs and manufacturing instructions.
• Define project success criteria, analyze data, and make technical recommendations.
• Provide routine technical service by visiting key accounts and optimizing processes on the production floor.
• Build relationships across the customer organization and maintain accurate call reports.
• Learn packaging equipment via OEM training, trade shows, and vendor relationships.
