Job summary

Ulteig seeks a Senior Environmental Specialist to guide environmental compliance across Federal, State, and Local regulations for diverse Lifeline Sectors. The role entails leading teams, preparing NEPA documents, and coordinating permits for a broad client base, including public and private sectors.

You will oversee field efforts, analyze data, and mentor junior staff while expanding Ulteig's presence in the region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in environmental science, environmental planning, policy, biology, wildlife management, or related field.
• 15+ years of related experience (advanced degree may count toward experience).
• Strong understanding of Federal, State, and Local regulations (e.g., NEPA, ESA, CWA, CAA, NHPA, CERCLA, RCRA) as they relate to environmental review and permitting.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Willingness to travel occasionally with overnight stays.
• Authorization to work permanently in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Lead multi-disciplinary teams to prepare reports and permit applications (NEPA, wetlands, biological assessments, noise, etc.).
• Provide oversight and interpretation of data for investigations, mitigation, or monitoring.
• Lead and organize field efforts (wildlife, botanical, water).
• Communicate scientific information to project teams.
• Prepare and review environmental reports and materials.
• Assist clients with permit coordination, acquisition, and compliance.
• Develop relationships with current clients and engage new clients via networking and service quality.
• Prepare proposals, scopes of services, schedules, and budgets.
• Mentor junior staff.
