Job summary

Jobgether is partnering with a leading employment law practice to recruit an Employment Law Partner based in California. You will lead high-stakes defense litigation for school districts across the state, advising on Title IX, ADA, FMLA, wage-and-hour matters, and compliance while guiding matters from filing to resolution.

This senior role offers a fully remote arrangement with a competitive starting salary in the $230,000–$300,000 range, plus bonus opportunities and comprehensive benefits,

Qualifications

• At least 10 years of professional legal experience.
• Exclusive background in employment litigation defense.
• Extensive experience representing school districts in employment defense matters.
• Required expertise in Title IX, ADA, and FMLA matters within the school district environment.
• Proven experience conducting wage and hour audits and advising on compliance requirements.
• Experience developing and reviewing employment compliance documentation, including employee handbooks.
• Active admission to the California State Bar and current authorization to practice law in California.
• Current residence in California.
• Strong litigation strategy, legal analysis, and problem‑solving capabilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to advise clients and manage complex legal matters independently.

Responsibilities

• Lead high-stakes employment litigation defense matters involving school districts across California.
• Advise clients on employment law matters, risk exposure, and appropriate legal strategies.
• Provide specialized guidance on Title IX, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA).
• Handle wage and hour compliance matters, including audits, investigations, and recommendations for corrective action.
• Review and develop employment compliance documentation, including employee handbooks, policies, and procedures.
• Build and maintain trusted relationships with school district clients through clear communication and practical legal advice.
• Contribute to the continued growth and development of the employment law practice.
