Job summary

Capgemini Engineering is seeking a Senior Electrical Power Systems Engineer to lead design and integration of high-reliability electrical systems for FOAK facilities. The role requires extensive expertise in safety-related power systems, regulatory regimes, and grid interconnection with MV/LV distribution.

You will perform advanced electrical studies with ETAP, develop detailed deliverables, and coordinate with suppliers to specify major components like transformers and switchgear.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (Master's preferred).
• US or Canada PE license or equivalent international.
• 7+ years in heavy/high-reliability industries (nuclear, power, etc.).
• Proficient with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Project, Visio.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and integration of safety-related electrical systems (SC1/SC2/SC3) including MV and LV distribution.
• Perform electrical studies (load flow, short circuit, motor starting, relay coordination) using ETAP per ANSI/IEC standards.
• Prepare electrical deliverables: Requirements Specs, Load Lists, One-lines, Calculations, Schematics, 3-Line diagrams; ensure on-spec, on-budget, on-schedule.
• Develop procurement specs for major components (transformers, switchgear, generators, UPS) and collaborate with suppliers.
• Navigate regulatory requirements (CA-CNSC and US-NRC) and support licensing processes.
• Interface with transmission providers to manage interconnection agreements and grid stability.
• Apply US/CA/EU codes and standards (IEEE, IEC, CSA, NEC) to electrical designs.
