Job summary

Hanwha Qcells USA Corp (Qcells USA) is seeking a Senior Director of Preconstruction to lead the internal Preconstruction Team and drive preconstruction and estimating efforts for megawatt-scale solar and ESS projects.

The role requires a strong construction/engineering background, with extensive experience in renewables development and a track record of delivering results across the Americas. Remote work from Houston with travel up to 30% and reporting to the VP of Proposals.

Qualifications

• Minimum 15 years of experience in engineering or construction.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in solar development.
• Experience designing and building large-scale solar power plants in the Americas.
• Knowledge of EPC, project management, and renewables development processes.
• Experience with the RFP process and working with project developers.
• Ability to lead large technical organizations and manage multiple suppliers/contractors.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Lead project initiation and planning for the preconstruction phase.
• Define resource requirements and establish communication plans.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams (Estimation, Contracts, Permitting, Engineering).
• Mentor and coach team members to foster growth.
• Oversee preconstruction activities from inception to award; ensure safety and compliance.
