Job summary

Cano Health is seeking a Senior Director of Coding and Documentation to lead the coding, documentation and audit/education functions for both owned clinics and affiliates. This executive will report to the CFAO and align coding activities with compliance, clinical requirements and Cano's mission.

You will guide a high-performing team, drive risk adjustment under CMS/HCC models, manage budgets and KPIs, collaborate with clinical and operations leaders, and partner with outside plans to ensure

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in Medicare Advantage coding/documentation.
• 7+ years of leadership experience in healthcare.
• Experience in primary care settings.
• CPC, CRC, and/or CPMA certifications.

Responsibilities

• Lead coding, documentation, and audit/education departments for owned clinics and affiliates.
• Provide guidance on coding guidelines and Medicare Advantage requirements.
• Drive risk adjustment initiatives using CMS/HCC models and analytics.
• Manage budgeting, KPIs and collaboration with clinical/operations leadership.
• Coordinate with contracted plans and Revenue Cycle Management to ensure accurate revenue.
