Job summary

William & Mary and the Virginia Institute of Marine Science is seeking a Senior Director, Application Services to lead the Advancement Information Services team. The role focuses on strategic implementation and management of information systems to support fundraising and engagement efforts across the university.

The Senior Director will drive discovery, customization, and integration of systems, while leading education and training for users.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, business administration, or related field or equivalent
• Typically 5–10 years of higher education fundraising IT experience
• Strong leadership and team management capabilities
• Experience implementing, managing and supporting fundraising IT systems
• Experience in discovery, configuration, customization and integration of applications
• Proficient in data privacy and security practices for information systems
• Proficient with advancement CRM platforms (BBCRM, Salesforce, MS Dynamics)
• Analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication with diverse stakeholders
• Ability to lead education and training for advancement information systems

Responsibilities

• Lead the Advancement Information Services team and strategy
• Collaborate with senior leadership to align information services with fundraising goals
• Oversee implementation, configuration, integration, and maintenance of systems
• Develop and deliver education and training programs for advancement systems
• Ensure data integrity, privacy, and security across systems
• Coordinate with IT and vendors to upgrade software and ensure usability
• Manage cross-functional projects and ensure on-time delivery
• Drive data-driven strategies for campaign planning and execution
