Job summary

CMG Financial is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to design, build, and operate platforms and pipelines used by CMG software teams. You will own scoped components end-to-end, including CI/CD templates, Terraform catalogs, GitHub Enterprise, and identity/security configurations.

You will lead platform migration, build self-service tooling, and enforce guardrails aligned to SOC 2, SOX, and GLBA while mentoring engineers and improving observability and testing across the platform.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT or related field (equivalent experience considered).
• 5+ years in DevOps, cloud engineering, or platform engineering.
• Experience in regulated financial services environments with audit and least-privilege access.
• Hands-on Azure across App Service, Container Apps, Functions, Storage, networking, Key Vault, and Entra ID.
• Proficient in Terraform at scale with modules, stacks, state management, and testing.
• Proficient with CI/CD platforms, especially GitHub Actions and Azure DevOps Pipelines.
• Experience administering GitHub Enterprise and Azure DevOps at org level.
• Scripting/automation with PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
• Containerization knowledge (Docker, Azure Container Apps).
• Observability tools: Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights.
• Raising platform maturity via policy-as-code, drift detection, cost controls, or migration tooling.
• Familiar with SOC 2, SOX, GLBA security frameworks.
• Strong written and verbal communication across teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain the shared CI/CD templates, reusable GitHub Actions workflows, and composite actions used by teams to build and deploy .NET, Node.js, and SQL projects to Azure App Service, Container Apps, and on-prem IIS.
• Design and maintain Terraform modules and self-service catalog stacks across dev/QA/UAT/production environments, folding legacy modules into the catalog.
• Own significant infrastructure and platform components end-to-end, including design, implementation, operation, and lifecycle management.
• Lead platform migration and modernization work, including identity migrations across teams.
• Build and maintain self-service tooling reducing manual effort for infra catalogs, scaffolding, and intake automation.
• Introduce and maintain automated guardrails across pipelines and infrastructure (policy-as-code, cost controls, compliance).
• Improve testing and observability of the platform’s own code; ensure changes are safe for all teams.
• Administer GitHub Enterprise and Azure DevOps; manage organization policies and identity federation.
• Apply secure-by-default practices: managed identities, secret rotation, least privilege.
• Investigate incidents, perform root cause analysis, drive corrective actions.
• Provide technical review and mentor engineers through code review and pairing.
• Develop domain expertise in Azure services, identity, networking, or CI/CD, and share knowledge across teams.
