Job summary

Element 84 seeks a Senior DevOps Engineer to architect and operate cloud-native systems, emphasizing infrastructure as code across AWS and Azure. You will lead secure deployments, automation, and pipelines while collaborating with cross-functional teams and customers.

You will leverage Linux expertise and CI/CD mastery to support Generative AI workloads and data pipelines, ensuring scalable and observable cloud environments.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software development experience with 3+ years in Cloud Technologies.
• Strong hands-on IaC experience writing and maintaining complex cloud configurations.
• Proficiency in Python, Bash, and JavaScript.
• Demonstrated ability to design, deploy, and manage infrastructure on major cloud platforms.
• Excellent documentation and communication of architectural concepts; able to present and write white papers.
• Experience balancing security, performance, maintainability, and cost in tradeoffs.
• Proven multitasking across multiple customers in Agile environments.
• Solid Linux experience and deep understanding of cloud architecture patterns.
• Experience with build/deployment automation tools and monitoring/observability stacks.
• Certification in cloud architecture or DevOps is a plus; NOAA CAC badge and US work authorization are required.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of scalable, secure cloud-native solutions on AWS.
• Work with security teams to translate requirements into compliant cloud implementations.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code across multiple AWS and Azure accounts.
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines for rapid and reliable software deployments.
• Write automation scripts in Python, Bash, and JavaScript to streamline operations.
• Contribute to infrastructure supporting Generative AI applications on domain datasets.
• Automate creation and management of front- and back-end applications, pipelines, and security tooling.
• Advocate and implement best practices for DevOps across Element 84 and client environments.
