Job summary

Community Health Systems is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to lead advanced analytics and develop ML models that transform healthcare outcomes. You will translate raw data into scalable, automated, high-impact solutions and work closely with clinical and executive leaders to align with organizational goals.

The role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration, production-ready pipelines, and cloud-based deployments using GCP.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Bioinformatics, or related field.
Master's degree preferred.
5–7 years of healthcare data engineering and analytics experience in clinical/biomedical research.
Minimum 1 year experience in a large healthcare system, hospital, or payer environment.
Willingness to travel on-site 2–4 times per year.

Responsibilities

Perform advanced analysis of clinical and operational datasets and translate findings into insights for leadership.
Develop, test, and deploy ML models predicting high-value outcomes across service areas.
Build NLP/text solutions for documentation-focused workflows.
Collaborate with clinicians, domain experts, and IT/data teams to source data and build pipelines and dashboards.
Utilize GCP for scalable data storage, processing, deployment, and automation.
Design and execute experiments; present results to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Maintain adherence to organizational policies and SOPs.
