Job summary

Real Time Medical Systems is seeking a Senior Data Platform Engineer to design and optimize cloud-native data solutions on AWS. You will drive performance and cost efficiency while migrating legacy SQL Server systems to PostgreSQL at scale.

The role blends architecture with hands-on delivery and requires collaboration across teams. The ideal candidate has extensive PySpark/Python experience, strong SQL skills, and familiarity with data governance and visualization tools.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in data or software engineering with hands-on data ops.
• Strong Python and PySpark for large-scale processing.
• SQL development with performance tuning and ETL/ELT design.
• Hands-on AWS data services and Terraform for IaC.
• Experience migrating from SQL Server to PostgreSQL.
• Knowledge of data modeling, governance, and security best practices.
• Experience with Tableau/PowerBI data visualization is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize batch and streaming data pipelines.
• Lead SQL Server to PostgreSQL migration efforts with validation.
• Implement and maintain Terraform infrastructure for AWS services.
• Conduct AWS workload performance and cost optimization reviews.
• Develop data quality, monitoring, and reconciliation frameworks.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable solutions.
• Apply CI/CD, testing, and code-review practices to data workflows.
