Job summary

GM Data Engineering seeks a Senior Manager to lead Motorsports data infrastructure and data science programs. You will manage managers, align ingestion, streaming, and AI tools to racing program priorities, and stay hands-on during critical issues.

You will guide real-time and batch data pipelines across telemetry and trackside data, collaborating with Engineering, Vehicle Performance, and Race Strategy teams.

Qualifications

• BS degree in CS/Engineering/Data Science or related field.
• Have 10+ years in data engineering, software engineering, or data science, delivering production distributed data platforms.
• 5+ years leading engineering or data science teams including managers, while remaining a hands-on contributor.

Responsibilities

• Lead Motorsports Data Infrastructure and Data Science managers and their teams.
• Unify data platforms and AI tools into a single roadmap and operating model.
• Architect pipelines, prototype ML/GenAI solutions, review code, and support race weekends.
• Own platform roadmap: ingestion, streaming, lakehouse, governance, AI/ML enablement.
• Manage real-time and batch pipelines using Databricks, Kafka/Event Hubs, Spark/Flink.
