Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Senior Manager to lead the Motorsports data infrastructure and data science teams. You will own the strategy for real-time and batch data pipelines, govern telemetry, simulation, and trackside data, and drive AI/ML-enabled tools for race weekends and development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
• 10+ years in data engineering, software engineering, or data science delivering production data platforms.
• 5+ years leading engineering or data science teams including managers.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Motorsports Data Infrastructure and Data Science managers and their teams.
• Unify data pipelines and platforms across telemetry, timing, and trackside data.
• Architect pipelines, prototype ML/GenAI solutions, review code, and support race weekends.
• Own the motorsports data platform roadmap: ingestion, streaming, lakehouse, governance, AI/ML enablement.
• Unify real-time and batch data processing for telemetry and trackside data using Databricks, Delta Lake, Kafka, Spark/Flink.
• Lead ML model productionization and MLOps; drive AI tooling adoption; ensure CI/CD and data quality.
• Secure data, manage costs in Azure and Databricks, and manage vendor relationships.
• Communicate strategy and progress to Motorsports and GM leadership.
